Raise the Bar Psychology offers one-on-one and small group programs to help students in late high school (Years 9 to 12) and tertiary education with their studies.
Sometimes, students need a helping hand to develop the necessary skills to do better at school and in their studies. Study skills do not necessarily develop naturally; instead, they may need to be explicitly taught and supported. By developing their study skills and use of memory strategies, students can improve their ability to retain and recall information and learn to study more efficiently and effectively.
The memory strategies we teach are evidence-based strategies that support consolidation of new information in long-term memory, and accurate and efficient retrieval of information from memory storage. Study skills cover strategies that help students study more efficiently and effectively and improve their learning and academic performance. Programs are also linked to exam preparation and reducing exam stress.
The program is ideal for Year 9 to 12 students and tertiary education students who are motivated to improve their approach to learning and school, and motivated to learn strategies for working smarter and not harder. They are also suitable for students who need support with exam preparation and managing test anxiety.
The Study and Memory Skills group runs during the school term or as a holliday intensive.
