Roberto Tamayo is an Educational and Developmental Psychology Registrar who completed a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. He has prior experience working in school and private practice settings providing counselling and assessment services. Roberto utilises techniques drawn from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression. He also conducts neurodevelopmental assessments that identify autism, ADHD, specific learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia), intellectual disability, and giftedness. Roberto enjoys supporting children, adolescents and young adults via a collaborative, empowering and affirming approach throughout the therapeutic and assessment process. He also has a special interest in working with migrant backgrounds and LGBTQIA+ youth, recognising the influences that culture, gender and sexuality may have on one’s mental health and development.

Outside of work, Roberto enjoys travelling, playing basketball and video games, and finding the best coffee in town.

Currently accepting children, adolescent and adult assessment clients

Counselling

Currently accepting children, adolescent and adult counselling clients aged 13 to 35 for anxiety, depression/mood, emotional regulation, anger, self-esteem, executive functioning skills, social skills and assertiveness

  • Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology
