Kathleen Yardley is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who completed her Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at Australian Catholic University. Kathleen has previously worked in school settings (independent and government), for the Department of Education and Training, and in private practice. She has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults across a range of presentations including anxiety and other mood disorders, ADHD, Autism, learning difficulties and disorders, giftedness, adjustment issues, stress and coping challenges, emotional and behavioural regulation, grief and loss, and perfectionism. Kathleen also provides support to parents and caregivers.
Kathleen offers a warm and compassionate approach that is person-centred and draws from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. She provides comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming psychological assessment and always aims to provide individualised recommendations that are clear and manageable. Kathleen works collaboratively with clients, their families and their educational settings (where appropriate) to ensure that clients feel respected, supported and understood.
Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys exploring new playgrounds with her young son, spending time with her husband and family, and travelling overseas. Kathleen is also a classically-trained violinist.
