Melissa Ward is a psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in a variety of educational settings such as preschools, primary and secondary schools and universities, as well as in community health. Melissa’s intricate knowledge of the school system and its procedures allows her to work collaboratively with parents and schools to support children’s emotional, learning and social needs.

Melissa is passionate about educational and neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention. She enjoys working with children and families to identify a student’s unique set of strengths and challenges, sharing her knowledge of evidence-based intervention and adjustments to empower others and help the student to reach their full potential. Melissa is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and her calm and empathetic approach helps her clients feel comfortable and at ease.

In addition to her work at Raise the Bar Psychology, Melissa continues to work as a school psychologist providing assessments and counselling to primary and secondary school students, as well as consultation and professional development to teachers and wellbeing professionals.

When not at work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her young family, going for bike rides, exploring parks and beaches, and seeing family and friends.

Melissa’s clinic days are Monday and Tuesday
