Serena Hilal is a provisional psychologist currently completing a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. She has experience working in school and community settings, providing counselling, assessment, and support for children, adolescents, and families. Serena has worked with young people experiencing anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, and social or emotional concerns.
Serena is passionate about creating safe and supportive environments that promote well-being and learning for all clients. She has a strong interest in working with multicultural communities and takes a neuroaffirmative approach that recognises and values neurodiversity. She also aims to provide inclusive and affirming support for LGBTQIA+ young people. Serena works collaboratively with clients and families in a strengths-based and meaningful way, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Outside of work, Serena enjoys walking her dog Misty, taking Pilates classes, and spending time with friends and family.
