Melanie Sampson is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over 10 years supporting students with diverse learning needs in primary, secondary and specialist school settings. She is passionate about utilising evidence-based approaches to inform holistic assessments and interventions with young people in collaboration with their families, schools and wider support networks.

Melanie has a special interest in the assessment of developmental delays, autism, ADHD and specific learning disorders including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. She also uses a trauma-informed approach when considering contributing factors to social-emotional wellbeing and learning difficulties. Melanie is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She also utilises Compassion-Based Therapeutic approaches.

  • Master of Psychology (Clinical), RMIT University
  • Graduate Diploma of Psychotherapy with specialisation in Counselling and Psychotherapy, The Cairnmillar Institute
  • Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience, Monash University
